A workshop for people that want to learn how to work in Blender 3D. After a brief introduction to the Blender interface, and the theory of 3d we will create a simple robot character. Then it will be given some basic materials and lit. After this we create an armature (skeleton) for it, and animate the character.
We will look at IK versus FK skeletons, efficient ways of creating an animation, and rendering it. During the workshop there will be lots of time to ask questions, and if people want, we can also look at some of the other areas of 3D than the basic workshop covers.
Dolf Veenvliet has been working with Blender since 2000. He has a degree in monumental art, and worked in broadcasting for 5 years. He currently works on several blender related projects, such as Project London (www.projectlondonmovie.com) and Project Petunia (www.projectpetunia.org). The remainder of his time is divided between, web development, python scripting tools, and teaching Blender/CG.
